The Slam: Slammables

Ses Choses

"You must do this on your own, mon amour,"
sighed the pink and green cloth with lace 'round the edges.
"It is a burden that you bear,"
creaked the splintering wicker divan.
"We will be waiting for you in the summer,"
rang the green-glazed pottery shard.
"After all, it's only love,"
hummed the busy bumblebee.

Slammings

This is really beautiful. I love the language and the detailed mental picture you place. I found it really hard to understand, however. I read over it several times and I still don't quite get what's going on. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as the mystery does add something to it.

It sort of feels like an old black-and-white photograph you find lying around, and it's a picture of a place you recognize, but can't quite remember where it is... if that makes any sense.

Depending on what you're going for here, you could try to add some clarification or leave it as is. I think it's beautiful as is, but I would also really love to know more backstory.

I like this! It reminds me of one of my favorite books, Night House Bright House. This makes me think of a summer home or a place where one may or may not decide to go on vacation; a place that one loves and yet hates.
