The Slam: Slammables

Proletarii vsekh stran, soyedinyats!

by L. M. Zhukov, Russia

no matter the breadlines are long
and the papers print pictures of scythes
we are the workers of the world
and we are to pay no tithes

workers of the world unite!
we say
workers of the world unite!

anna akhmatova screams for her son
and solzhenitsyn demands his voice
but stalin must be given his dues
and the masses must be given their choice

Slammings

This was very intriguing. I think you wrote an interesting piece here. It's concise and powerful. You should keep it that way.

I love this. I don't even know exactly why I love it... just the way the words are put together makes it really beautiful to me. The rhyming could have made it cheesy, but instead it makes it even better.
